natural Acetate is a purely plant-based material composition made from cotton and wood. Contrary to traditionally used acetates, this sustainable material creation dispenses of harmful components and uses only plant-based plasticizers. As a result, the material is considered biodegradable and particularly environmentally friendly.

The basis for our natural Acetate is a sustainable cellulose acetate, which is obtained from renewable raw material sources such as cotton and fine wood fibers. When adding plasticizers, the physical characteristics and workability improves and the material can be processed further. Staying true to our sustainable brand philosophy, only plasticizers that are plant-based are used for the natural Acetate making it a material that is particularly environmentally friendly.

BIO-BASED AND BIODEGRADABLE

We invested a lot of time and effort into finding the right material for our acetate portfolio. One of our requirements was that the natural Acetate is not only bio-based, but also certified as biodegradable. This means that the material can be broken down into simple chemical compounds by the enzymatic activity of microorganisms, sunlight, and other environmental physical agents.
