Certified Sustainable Eyewear Award - Sunglasses Europe

At this year's MIDO, NEUBAU EYEWEAR was awarded the first-ever CSE - Certified Sustainable Eyewear Award for special commitment to sustainability in the category "Sunglasses Europe".

The winner was the model "ROMY", which is made of the 100% plant-based material natural3D and with the help of innovative 3D printing technology. We are proud to call Romy the most sustainable sunglasses in Europe.

The Award

The CSE - Certified Sustainable Eyewear Award was presented for the first time at MIDO 2023 and recognizes brands that demonstrate particular environmental and social commitment. Criteria include recycling of materials, minimization of consumption in production and distribution processes, optimal use of the supply chain, avoidance of waste, recyclability and use of renewable energy.

The material developed especially for NEUBAU is 100% derived from a renewable raw material source - the castor plant - and is thus purely plant-based. Processing using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology also allows us to produce eyeglass frames without solid waste materials or cutting waste.
